ARTISTInessa Morozova

I have always been painting. From the age of six, my grandmother created wall newspapers at school. Later, she wanted to attend an art school and join a theatre club. My parents only supported my art, so I studied there until the 11th grade. After that, I attended the Institute of Design, where I successfully distanced myself from formal education. Drawing hours were never enough for me. I wanted to draw constantly and only… for many years, I engaged in self-study, looking at paintings by my favourite artists, analysing, and copying them. I fell in love with impressionism and socialist realism.
Meanwhile, I started using a palette knife in my work. The theme of children is incredibly dear to me. Their cheeks, heels, braids, and the spontaneity and sincerity of childhood are so touching. I also love to paint antique subjects. I remember how things were before… and I reflect on it.
Everything inspires me to create. I adore painting with natural flowers and still lifes. I seize every opportunity to go sketching.
My favourite artists include Feshin, Korovin, Levitan, and Repin.
In my work, I aim to share my emotions and feelings. I want everyone to remember the brightest moments from their childhood!
